A BRIEF HISTORY

LAROCHÉUola

The LAROCHÉ story began in 2016. The founder of the dessert studio, Donata Martinaitienė, started the business with a passion for French patisserie and an irrepressible curiosity. After completing her studies in food technology and various private trainings with pastry chefs from Lithuania and around the world, Donata decided to open a dessert studio and called it LAROCHÉ. This French name perfectly describes the founder's character and strength. The word la roche translates as a rock. 

It started with French mousse-type cakes and pastries, followed by classic sponge cakes. These were followed by macarons, cannellés, eclairs and other confectionery. 
In 2019, we started developing and producing LAROCHÉ CHOCOLATE chocolates and bonbons.

2017 2017

A DECISIVE START

It was a decisive and confident decision in Donata Martinaitienė's life to start creating and opening a dessert studio. A new brand in Lithuania - LAROCHÉ is born. Donata creates and works alone, and a little later the first person is hired.

2018 2018

FIRST PLAN

Once the project was successful, it was decided to expand: a new spacious and modern studio was built, staff was recruited and a team was formed. The challenges are many, but determination and passion for the profession drive us forward. Cakes and pastries, eclairs, macarons and other products are produced.

2019 2019

Presented Chocolate

Donata's husband Andrius joins in. The concept for the chocolates and packaging is launched. Later, the first chocolate bars are poured. The desire to move forward leads to the development of bonbon bars. The chocolate packaging is awarded the NAPA Bronze International Award.

2020 2020

Second Expansion

As LAROCHÉ becomes an increasingly desirable dessert producer, it decides to expand its activities by upgrading and adding new equipment and new staff. The range of products and services is expanded. A sales network is set up in other Lithuanian cities.

Global Recognition

LAROCHÉ CHOCOLATE is awarded the prestigious Academy of Chocolate (London, UK) Bronze Award for the uniqueness of its chocolates in terms of ingredient combinations and flavour combinations. This has been noticed by the Lithuanian media and has also received attention.

New services for businesses

The range of products and services is being expanded. We are starting to work in the B2B segment: we develop white label chocolate products and provide corporate gift solutions. We are increasingly working with event organisers and wedding planners, advertising agencies. We are starting to work with more niche shops.

International focus

LAROCHÉ products and packaging are seen around the world. As visual art and a role model, LAROCHÉ CHOCOLATE products have been published in two books, Wrap It Up (Hong Kong, SANDU Publishing) and Favorite Design Chocolate Edition (France, Favorite Design Publishing). SG Magazine, a German magazine specializing in the confectionery and delicatessen industry, wrote an article entitled "A Hint of Chocolate Luxury" about the LAROCHÉ family's artisanal business.

Produce for cafés

As the LAROCHÉ brand has become a coveted brand throughout Lithuania, we are starting to supply confectionery products to other cities. Our desserts are now available not only to Kaunas residents.

International focus

LAROCHÉ products have once again been noticed worldwide. This time, our products were featured in the book "Package for Life: Chocolate" (Hong Kong, Victionary Publishing). This is a very large and highly regarded publication that is published all over the world.

LAROCHÉ BONBON candies are awarded the prestigious Academy of Chocolate (UK, London) Silver and Bronze awards for their exceptional taste and quality.

The best cake in Lithuania

LAROCHÉ wins first prize in the Revolution Cake Competition, an international festival of events and innovation held in Vilnius in May 2024. LAROCHÉ is officially the best in Lithuania!

Keep going today

We are constantly improving through training and introducing new products and new flavours. We upgrade and acquire new production equipment. We are expanding our network of partners and planning for a bright tomorrow.
